TRANSPORTATION
Fly into SJO Juan Santamaría International Airport on Jan 2nd
ARRIVAL: Fly into SJO Juan Santamaría International Airport on Jan 2nd, meet at Adventure Inn Hotel for group dinner & to settle in.
Make sure to call The Adventure Inn in advance (such as days in advance) to book the time you need your free shuttle from airport to your hotel.
The following morning on January 3rd, our bus/shuttle will pick us all up from Adventure Inn and take us to the Goddess Garden resort in Cahuita (4 hours south).
DEPARTURE: On Jan 10, the shuttle/bus takes us back to SJO airport.
FOR YOUR SHUTTLE FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE ADVENTURE INN:
Ideally, call The Adventure Inn in advance while in the States to notify the hotel of what time your flight gets into SJO airport. They will send a shuttle to you. If you miss it, just call them back.
After you get off the plane, you’ll check in to customs, grab your bags from baggage claim, then finish with getting your bags scanned through customs. Then you’ll be able to exit the airport.
Upon leaving, you’ll see multiple exits listed as 1, 2 and 3. If you keep walking past all of these, you’ll eventually see the hotel shuttle pick up section.
TRAVEL INSURANCE:
It is recommended that you purchase travel insurance for your flight and retreat cost. This will be your best protection against having to cancel your retreat due to any personal emergency such as medical, spouse medical, jury duty or court appearance and it is generally pretty affordable.
We suggest American Express Traveler's Insurance.

PHONE SERVICE REMINDER
To avoid high roaming charges while traveling:
1. Turn off roaming in your phone settings.
2. Download media (podcasts, movies, etc.) ahead of time for the ride to and from the retreat center.
3. Consider getting an international plan or day pass from your carrier.
Everyday activities like scrolling Facebook or Instagram can quickly rack up data charges if roaming is on, so be sure to plan ahead to avoid a big cell phone bill

FAQ’S
How to bring money
Bring Cash in USD in small bills (no Colones required) – 50 and 100 USD bills are not accepted in most places.
Don’t change money at the airport, the rate is very poor.
At The Goddess Garden you can make payments for your personal expenses with cash, PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, or Zelle. We do not accept credit or debit cards.
*There are ATM machines in Cahuita and Puerto Viejo for Visa and MasterCard where you can get cash in USD and Colones. The maximum daily amount to take out is 200 USD.
Do I need to know spanish to attend?
No. Knowing common Spanish words is helpful although many Costa Rican’s know basic english words and there tend to be expats around who speak other languages such as english often.
Can I drink the water there?
We recommend that you only drink filtered or bottled water in the Caribbean side of Costa Rica where we will be and in general across the country. Plenty of people say the tap water is safe/good to drink but we have heard varying accounts. Filtered water is available at the retreat center.
What about the toilet/plumbing situation?
You actually cannot flush toilet paper down the toilet as the plumbing system can’t handle it. The country's plumbing was never built to accommodate for excessive amount of toilet paper and, since many systems are septic or composting, you'll find 'toilet paper bins' in every toilet stall, all over the country. So…do the right thing…and pop it in the bin!
Is it safe in Costa Rica?
Yes, but it is always important to use common sense and travel in groups whenever possible and not leave valuables out of sight, such as on the beach when in the water. Crime does happen and it’s important to recognize that it’s a friendly country with beautiful people but like any place there are opportunities for dangerous things to happen, stay vigilant and aware!
Are excursions like kayaking and massage included?
ZEN- YES!!!!!!!!!!
We are including the price of the following excursions into your ticket. Here’s what is included:
kayaking on the river
Cacao making & tour of indigenous Bri Bri village
Cahuita National Park hike & tour (see animals)
Waterfall Hike & swim
1 hour massage on site

PLEASE PURCHASE TRAVEL INSURANCE TO PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT.
REMINDER **My co-host, Salena, has had a family emergency arise that will prevent her from attending the retreat. She’s in the middle of a custody battle and is required to appear in court during the retreat dates. As much as she wishes she could be with us, she needs to stay close to home for her daughters and cannot leave the country. We’ll be sending her our support and love while we’re in Costa Rica.
I want to reassure you that aside from missing her wonderful energy and presence with the sound bowls, nothing else about your retreat experience will change. You will still receive (4) nightly sound baths exactly as planned. I’m currently undergoing sound healing training, and I’ll also be providing everyone with a special bonus gift as a thank-you for your understanding.
